SHOWstudio continues to champion fashion illustration as an important medium of fashion communication. As such, our Milan coverage sees Fiona Gourlay handed the task of illustrating the latest collections from Italy.
Trained at The London College of Fashion, Gourlay draws upon personal experiences to provide depth and substance to her drawings as opposed to what she describes as ‘cookie cutter’ artworks. Gourlay’s drawings have a confident texturisation to them, through the use of unconventional materials such as branches, dead flowers and gold leaf. All help demonstrate the innovative fabric choices of the designers.
Keep an eye on our collections page for all the shows that Gourlay will be covering. Also our Tumblr page will pull in all the illustrations for your viewing pleasure!
